Company Profile
Larson Instruments opened its doors in Tarrytown, New York in 1952.The company was
started by Louis H. Larson and his wife Gertrud who continued to operate the
firm after his death in 1968. Larson originated the contact-less meters in 1962.
In 1964 Larson Instruments built a plant in Orangeburg, New York and focused on
specialized panel instruments and the Larson meter relay. Product development is
a staple here and today over 90% of the TV transmitters manufactured today in
the United States and Canada use Larsen Instruments. Larson bought Metercraft in 1980
located in Irvine, California and in 1991 the two companies "Larson Instruments"
and "Metercraft" consolidated. Larson-Metercraft moved its
facilities to Santee, California. Larson-Metercraft has experienced continued
growth and is an authorized distributor and modification center for all the
major instrument manufacturers in the United States. It is recognized as the
most competent modification center in the United States. Larson Metercraft
has developed a reputation for its unique ability to customize just about any
product it carries.
